What is singingmad?
My vocal technique is based on the "Bel canto" foundations founded in classical singing of the (18th "beautiful singing". Developing the voice with breath support, round vowels and beauty of tone. Making sure the physical mechanics of singing are discovered, controlled, and developed. I then teach all styles of singing with contemporary techniques used for musical theatre, pop, rock, folk and jazz including speech singing and belt. The main aim is to feel good, have a relaxed throat, and sing freely and effortlessly. I then bring in communication thru song, expression thru acting and I encourage work on your presence and charisma. The courses are performance based. So you are not only singing but aiming to let someone else hear you sing!! and "perform" your chosen number! this is why the courses are small groups - with a performance at the end in mind. To step out of your comfort zone. In a corporate setting the group singing will be all about communication and team building. 121 lessons can be for professionals, perhaps a young person wishing to take a singing exam with ABRSM or Lamda, or those just wishing to sing privately in the cosy setting of a home music studio.
Courses
6 WEEK COURSES
for 6 students only!
Commit to a 6 week course with a performance at the end! Sing that solo, sing a duet and be in a small ensemble piece . Only six allowed per course in the group, this enables each to sing solo (with an embedded 121 class added) team up with a partner for a duo or trio and create one or two ensemble pieces. Vocal Technique, acting thru song and some microphone technique will be incorporated.
CORPORATE WORKSHOPS - small and large groups
A 2 to 3 hour workshop team building event! - With backing tracks & a small portable piano, we would discover team building acting exercises and sing well known popular song classic hits - a touch of vocal technique to boost well being and the power of singing, that physically will boost whilst exploring archetypical neurological attributes to self discovery and communication. Singing is great way for people to connect! There are no barriers.

Individual lessons at my Home Music studio in Somerset - all ages and abilities welcome alongside professionals wishing to enhance their opera or legit musical theatre techniques. ABRSM and Lamda singing exams can be prepared.
